GSHPA Members' Day: Learning, Networking, and Shaping the Future
Our recent Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) Members’ and Guests’ Day was a hit! We saw a large turnout with over 100 attendees and an impressive 20 exhibitors. Missed the event? Don’t worry; we’ve prepared a video capturing the highlights and providing information about joining our dynamic GSHPA community.
The day began with a focus on “Training within our Industry.” Andrea Ellis led this session, emphasising the importance of integrating ground source heat pump education for our engineers of the future. She firmly believes that starting this education early can positively impact the direction of our industry.
This was followed by an insightful chat about “The Importance of the Electrification of Heat.” The delegates jumped right in, asking intriguing questions and offering their views on where our industry is today and where it might be heading.
Later, we dove into the topic of “Standards within our Industry.” Andrea Ellison, Ian Rippin, and Ken Gordon discussed the newest industry standards. They covered topics like Vertical Borehole and Drilling standards, along with updates to the Thermal Transfer Fluid guide.
One of the day’s high points was the engaging discussion on “Ground Source vs Air Source, the BIG question.” In this session, Chris Davidson, Edward Levien, Christian Engelke, and I chatted about the pros and cons of both options. This chat provided a clearer picture of these two methods for all attendees.
We wrapped up the day with a forward-looking conversation about “What’s next for the industry?” Ken Kneale, Matt Trewhella, and Nigel Aylwin-Foster led a discussion that gave us all food for thought about the future of our industry in both the residential and commercial sectors.
A big thanks to everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to the event’s success. And, of course, a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated GSHPA team and The National Conference Centre for their superb support.
Keep an eye out for future GSHPA events! We’re excited to keep you up-to-date with the latest happenings and ways to connect with our community. Let’s continue driving the sustainable energy revolution together!
