Annual GSHPA conference raises thousands of pounds for charity
There have been celebrations all around as this year’s Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) Conference and Charity Dinner saw record numbers attend while raising money for charity.
The event at Coniston Hotel, in Yorkshire, saw over 400 industry individuals come together for expert talks, presentations and networking opportunities.
Starting with the GSHPA AGM, three new council members were appointed to the committee after an unprecedented number of applications. Paul Fowler of Greenglove Boreholes, Andy Howley of Hex Energy and Matt Trewhella of Kensa Group have now taken on new roles.
The event was then followed by the annual conference with Dr Alan Whitehead, Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change and Matthew Aylott from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, among the speakers on the day.
Managing Director Laura, who is the chair of the GSHPA, also explored how the ground source industry has grown over the last few years.
This was followed by the charity dinner which was attended by a record 400 guests with a live auction by celebrity auctioneer Steven Parkinson who has featured on BBC’s Flog IT and Antiques Road Trip to raise funds for Blood Cancer UK.
Funds are still being calculated from the charity dinner, but the charity raffle alone raised £2500 for Blood Cancer UK.
