International Conference on Evolving Cities
We’re excited to announce that our Managing Director, Laura, will be speaking at the University of Southampton International Conference on Evolving Cities (ICEC) on 14th July. The prestigious event will address the important issues facing cities, their evolution, and the significant role they can play in tackling the climate crisis, as highlighted in the Glasgow Climate Pact following on from COP 26.
Laura will be a keynote speaker on the day, focusing on the role heat pumps can play in decarbonising buildings to achieve Net-Zero. She will talk to leading industry figures on how heat pumps can meet Net-Zero targets, the challenges we face and what the future holds for the decarbonisation of buildings. Be sure to book your space to find out more and join the discussion live at the event.
ICEC is in its third year. This year’s event follows the success of ICEC 2021, which fed into the COP 26 preparatory conferences bringing together governments from across the globe to discuss and review how climate change is being managed domestically and internationally.
In the UK, heating contributes to around a quarter of all carbon emissions, with cities consuming about 75% of the energy. Therefore, finding sustainable solutions for heating and cooling our cities is at the top of Government agendas.
This year’s event will address the essential issues of infrastructure, data, energy, data and carbon in the context of the upcoming COP27 conference in Egypt.
Attended by academics, policymakers, regional and non-governmental organisations, and the private sector, Laura will look at the impact and opportunities heat pumps bring in creating more sustainable solutions to the challenges facing cities.
