Infinitas supports the education sector’s bid for Net-Zero with two new contracts
We are pleased to announce two new projects in the education sector as schools and universities continue to commit to becoming Net-Zero.
Infinitas Design has been appointed to deliver a full decarbonisation plan for a large college and support the design of a multi-million pound hybrid heat pump solution for another University in the South East.
As part of the Government’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions, more than 1,000 colleges and universities from 68 countries pledged to reach Net-Zero by 2050.
The University has four campuses across the South East, and they are hoping to bring that target forward to 2030.
Gas boilers are being phased out, and on-site renewables will be introduced. This includes a newly designed heat pump solution being installed at one of the campuses.
At the start of their journey, the college is looking to carry out a full options appraisal of the campus to look at how sustainability measures can be integrated to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint.
“Renewable solutions make such a difference in any building, but it is fantastic to see the education sector at the forefront of the drive towards the UK’s commitment to Net-Zero. Education providers such as these are not only setting a shining example to the industry but to the students who attend the facilities as well. It will drive change for our future generations for many years to come.”
